"I did some dirt to be the fresh one. I lost some friends over ends, but I guess it's what I get huh? Chasing dreams that I can barely see, shooting for the stars when it's something I could never be. Maybe the flash wasn't there for me, Maybe I'm too real for this industry." –Big K.R.I.T. When I see the name Big K.R.I.T., I think of the South and what it represents. Big K.R.I.T. is a multitalented rapper, singer, and producer. I’ve recently learned that K.R.I.T. is an acronym for “King Remembered In Time”, a title that is difficult to live up to, but definitely reflected in his music. K.R.I.T. Wuz Here defines southern music, where southern slang meets lyricism, which meets the struggle that he has overcome to get where he is now.
“Let me tell you ‘bout this, superfly dirty dirty, third coast muddy water, shawty pop that pussy if you wanna. Let me tell you ‘bout this old school, pouring lean, candy yams and collard greens, pocket full of stones riding clean. Let me tell you ‘bout this country shit, country, country shit.” –Big K.R.I.T. “Country Shit”

Overall his performance embodied his current mixtape, K.R.I.T. Wuz Here. During his explosive show, he also performed with Smoke Dza and Curren$y. Is Hip-Hop ready for a Southern Takeover? I think not. But I know K.R.I.T. telling these rap niggas “See me on top.” Return of Forever coming out soon!
*I might have an interview with Big K.R.I.T. and Big Sant this Sunday, so post comments on what questions you want to ask them.
